David Carr: Best is yet to come

David Carr, a New York Times reporter and columnist, said that the media is slowly developing better models for the online world, and that the best is yet to come.

"I think we are getting to the good part, that's what it feels like to me," Carr said.

David Carr said that legacy media is adopting some of the tools of the "insurgent media" like The Huffington Post, but is weighed down by costs and a lack of free and user-contributed content.

He also said that collaboration is part of the future, citing a Pulitzer Prize shared by non-profit Pro Publica and The New York Times Magazine.
