Trust is key, Huffington says

The constant news cycle of the Internet is a great way to break a story, but it might also be a way to break a reader's trust.

Arianna Huffington kicked off the panel discussion on the 24/7 news cycle at the ASNE Conference Tuesday morning by talking about how important reader trust is to all news organizations. She said that experts, and what they have said before, also reflect on the news organization that gives them a platform.

"Mistrust of all our institutions has reached a new high," Huffington said. "Whatever trade offs we make, trust cannot be compromised."
